Malbec 2009 Vinatge
This biodynamically grown vineyard reserve Malbec comes exclusively from fruit grown on our vineyards in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand.
Showing vibrant primary fruit flavors of plum and red berries. With a chocolate bouquet, this reserve Malbec finishes soft and round with velvety smooth tannins. Handcrafted in the vineyard and winery, this wine contains minimum preservative.
2008 Merlot
Late harvest Merlot grapes were left on the vines until late autumn to reach a high Brix level. The wine is intense and full flavored, the veriatal character is smooth with light Oak overtones which do not dominate the fruit driven style, and it can be cellared for up to ten years or enjoyed in its youth..
2007 Merlot/Malbec
The late Hawke’s Bay summer produced a vintage year for the 2007 Biodynamic Hawkhurst Estate Merlot/Malbec blend. A full bodied wine with black cherry and plum flavours, silky velvet tannins and a dry finish, makes this a very complex wine which can be enjoyed now or in the future.
2006 Merlot/Cabernet

Merlot/Cabernet comes exclusively from fruit grown on our vineyards
in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand.
A wine which has smooth textures and concentrated flavours, time in
oak has enhanced the characters of plum and blackcurrant that this
classic blend is known for.
2000 Cabernet/Merlot
The millennium vintage for Hawkhurst was one of
the best ever recorded. The long, hot, dry Hawke's Bay summer
conditions were ideal for the production of high quality grapes from
our Napier Road vineyards which excel in years of low rainfall.
Our millennium vintage Cabernet-67%/Merlot-33% was advantaged by the
very low yield from the Merlot vines. Fruit of exceptional ripeness
and intense flavour and deep colour was selected. The fruit achieved
a perfect balance of brix 21.9, ph.3.45, acid 8.6 g.l. Hawke's Bay
personality and master winemaker Warwick Orchiston successfully
balanced oak and tannin to produce a wine of complexity and
integrity.
1994 Cabernet/Merlot
This vintage Cabernet-60%/Merlot-40% blend has a
high Merlot content which softens the natural tannins of the
Cabernet and fills out the middle palate. This library wine which
has been aged in our temperature controlled cellar is exceptionally
smooth and soft.
Over the very long, hot, dry autumn ripening period the grapes were
able to slowly build and concentrate their flavours, producing a
spectacular vintage which has continued to improve with bottle age.
Fermentation took place in open vats and hand plunging was used to
extract maximum flavour and colour without excessive tannins.
